Job summary

ROCKWOOL Group seeks a Building Science Specialist to provide expertise in building science to architects, designers, specifiers, and contractors across North America. The role focuses on thermal, hygrothermal, and acoustical performance of building envelopes and requires engaging third-party consultants when necessary.

This position is on-site at Chicago, IL or Milton, ON, with international travel possible.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in architectural sciences (Building Sciences), Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant working experience in curtainwalls, building materials or construction.
• Knowledge in WUFI, THERM, INSUL, HEAT 3 and One Click LCA modelling software.
• NFRC Certified Simulator.
• Ability to build relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Effective written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide building science expertise to architects, designers, specifiers, and contractors.
• Support the thermal, hygrothermal and acoustical performance of building enclosures.
• Engage and manage third-party consultants as needed.
• Develop internal and external training programs including CEU development.
• Monitor trends and assess strategic implications for ROCKWOOL Building Science services.
