Role impact: To maintain all building equipment at optimum performance levels and ensure the building is kept in top condition to meet client requirements and expectations for a fully functioning facility.

What you will deliver:

  1. Perform troubleshooting and repairs for maintenance of equipment such as replacing belts and filters, lubrications, minor part replacement, and troubleshooting minor mechanical/electrical issues in compliance with local safety codes.
  2. Ensure CF property safety against loss due to theft, fire, liability claims by adhering to health, safety, and security procedures and reporting concerns promptly.
  3. Monitor central plant operations, including auxiliary and related equipment and water treatment, ensuring mechanical controls are in good working order for a comfortable environment.
  4. Inspect all central and Life Safety equipment, testing fire protection devices and emergency power systems regularly, and report issues to minimize damage and repair costs.
  5. Respond to client concerns regarding HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs, providing solutions or recommendations to reduce costs and enhance service quality.
  6. Maintain all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems such as chillers, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, emergency generators, induction units, and VAV systems.
  7. Keep detailed logs of mechanical systems on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis as required.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma
  • Building technician and/or instrumentation and control certificates
  • 4th Class Power Engineer License
  • Enrollment in SMA or SMT (BOMA) is an asset
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in physical plant operations, HVAC, and related equipment, preferably in an office or mixed-use environment
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, current technology, electrical/mechanical systems, and blueprint reading
  • Proven mechanical abilities
