Job description

Black & McDonald's Saskatchewan Service team is growing! If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, the Building Operator will complete regularly scheduled preventative building maintenance tasks in a timely manner, ensuring that various buildings operate safely and efficiently. The Building Operator will inspect work and services provided by any subcontractors or service providers. The position also requires compliance with Black & McDonald codes of conduct, health, safety and environmental policies and safe work practices along with any customer specific protocol.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Perform a rotation of HVAC maintenance and log readings
  • Filter changing, belt changing and coil cleaning
  • Perform daily regular duties, equipment adjustment, inspections and cleaning
  • Other tasks as agreed upon by the client & Black & McDonald

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years' experience in a technical occupation related to HVAC services and equipment
  • Building Automation Controls experience considered an asset but not required
  • 5th Class Power Engineer including Fireman's Certificate considered an asset but not required

  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Follows instructions both, written and verbal
  • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees, subs and customer
  • Accomplishes all duties and tasks as assigned
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards
  • Must be able to work on ladder or scaffold at various heights
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 kg (bending and lifting is required)
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, training available
  • Must be able to pass Federal Government Security Clearance
