Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced facilities technician for on-site in Winnipeg, MB. You will perform and coordinate building repairs, maintenance and system oversight, delivering exceptional service to tenants and enhancing building functionality.

Responsibilities include overseeing mechanical and electrical systems, coordinating maintenance contracts, ensuring safety procedures, and supporting tenant buildouts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property operations.
• 5th Class Power Engineer Certification required.
• Able to work on-call 24-hour rotation.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with Building Engines/Prism is an asset.
• Good understanding of blueprints and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Apply proactive repairs/maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and buildings are well-cared for.
• Address climate, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC/automation system concerns; coordinate tenant requests.
• Oversee contractors during regular and after-hours work; supervise maintenance contracts and services.
• Participate in HSSE program and implement safe work procedures.
• Contribute to energy management and cost-saving measures.
• Assist in supervising tenant buildouts and capital projects; coordinate timelines and quality control.
• Ensure environmental and safety procedures comply with regulations.

Position Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for performing and coordinating building repairs, maintenance, and system oversight while delivering exceptional service to tenants and contributing to the ongoing functionality and appeal of our buildings.

This position will champion the JLL Culture of Communication, Collaboration and Trust while performing the following duties:

• Apply a proactive approach to mechanical and physical repairs/maintenance, with careful attention to detail and improved maintenance standards to ensure building equipment operates efficiently and effectively, and the properties are seen as well-cared for facilities.
• Specific duties to include but are not limited to addressing building climate concerns, lighting requests, minor plumbing, performing emergency snow and ice removal, site garbage tours and pick up, operating automation systems, including HVAC and security, coordinating tenant requests.
• Oversee contractor activities during regular time and after hours when needed. Supervision of scheduled maintenance contracts and related services, including but not limited to interior/exterior maintenance, HVAC systems, life safety systems, and cleaning services.
• Participate in and contribute to company HSSE program including hazard assessments and safe work procedures for all associated tasks prior to commencing work.
• Energy Management review and implementation of cost savings.
• Excellent quality tenant services, emphasizing a cooperative and helpful approach in all interactions with tenants.
• Assist with the Supervision of tenant buildouts, construction and capital projects, being our liaison to ensure procedures, timelines and quality control are maintained to JLL standards.
• Ensuring that appropriate environmental & safety procedures are implemented to ensure compliance with government regulations and contribute to the overall performance of the company and portfolio.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property operations, experience with medical office or healthcare facilities preferred.
• Applied working knowledge of building automation systems for mechanical, operations, maintenance, security, and HVAC.
• Possess a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on abilities, and an above average understanding of building components.
• Available for on-call 24-hour rotation as assigned.
• 5th Class Power Engineer Certification required.
• Basic computer knowledge including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe applications. Experience working with Building Engines/Prism is an asset.
• A basic working knowledge of blueprints and construction drawings.
• Ability to communicate and relate to a variety of people, including tenants, senior staff, property management, mechanical and service personnel
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle required (mileage provided)
