The Role

As a Building Operator, you will execute daily operations and maintenance tasks to ensure tenant operations run smoothly. Reporting to the Assistant Property Manager, you will maintain properties safely and efficiently.

What You Will Do

• Manage incoming work orders and ensure timely resolution.
• Respond promptly to tenant escalations and incidents, safeguarding life, property, and reputation. Support restoration and insurance claims.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Obtain multiple quotes for repairs as needed.
• Assist vendors with site access.
• Conduct monthly meter readings.
• Identify equipment issues and follow through to resolution.
• Follow procurement policies for operational activities.
• Complete compliance inspections and address deficiencies.
• Utilize and assist with deployment of Operational Technology systems.
• Maintain asset inventory data.
• Help prepare building certification applications and ensure ongoing compliance.

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of experience in Building Operations.
• Building Operations certifications (e.g., BOMI BES Class II) are an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Service-oriented attitude with problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and strong time management.
• Knowledge of building systems (fire alarm, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, elevators, security, access control, automation).
• Understanding of EHS regulations and industry codes like WHMIS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iPhone operation, and CMMS.

Additional Requirements

• Availability for on-call/standby work after hours and emergency response.
• Regular travel to multiple sites; valid driver’s license and clean abstract required. Personal vehicle used with mileage reimbursement.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate common tools.
