- High school diploma (Grade 12)
- Building Environmental Systems Operator Class I Certificate or Certificate of Qualification in a relevant mechanical/technical trade i.e., Millwright, Stationary Engineering, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a facility maintenance or related technical field
- Ability to lift up to 27 kilograms (60 lbs.) and work in physically demanding conditions (standing, stooping, climbing)
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call rotations
- Current member or willing to join the local Union
- Able to obtain Police clearance
- Immunization as required by St. Joseph's Hospital Health Care and the Project Agreement

Key Responsibilities:
- Performing preventative maintenance including checking valves, pumps, belts, motors, fans, buildings/building support equipment, air handling system inspection, filter cleaning and replacement etc., correcting/repairing problems that are identified problems, following, completing and recording preventative maintenance routines.
- Inspecting and maintaining repairing mechanical equipment including; pumps/motor, mechanical and gland packing seals, valves, couplings, fans, coils compressors, bearings, steam traps and makes adjustments/repair to correct problems.
- Daily and weekly rounds of mechanical spaces.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance (minor plumbing, door locks, office furniture, change light bulbs, patch and paint walls, etc.)
- Operate and monitor Building Automation Systems and complete CMMS work orders via iPad
- Support safety and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and adjustments on mechanical and hydronic systems
- Assist licensed trades, manage inventory, and respond to emergency calls and after-hours issues
- Document all maintenance activities and ensure cleanliness of mechanical spaces
- Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and the public to maintain service standards
