Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking an experienced mechanical designer/drafter to support multiple commercial, institutional, health care, and light industrial projects in Regina, SK. You will develop drawings from concept through construction, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to codes, and delivering high-quality drawings while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group and maintaining Stantec standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• A.Sc.T. Technical/Technologist Designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
• Assist in the design of building mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection using applicable codes and standards.
• Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, and develop preliminary designs.
• Produce mechanical design drawings in REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Follow department drafting standards and project guidelines to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineer and engineering group to optimize project tools and resolve issues.
• Ensure quality and integrity of electronic handover of deliverables.
• Assist with field reviews, shop drawings review, RFIs, and site instructions.
