Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mechanical Designer to contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems for sustainable buildings within the Property & Buildings team. You will work closely with senior designers and engineers while supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors.

You will develop detailed models and drawings, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the technical delivery of mechanical systems from concept through construction, including local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in BIM modelling and mechanical system design.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience designing building mechanical systems; healthcare experience is a plus.
• Understanding of applicable building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support senior designers and engineers in developing complete drawing packages.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection systems for buildings.
• Perform heating, ventilation, and cooling load calculations.
• Support engineering calculations using design tools and software.
• Coordinate with project teams, external vendors, architects, and engineers.
• Support project delivery through accurate documentation and technical coordination.
