Job summary

Marcon is seeking a hands-on Building Manager (Live-In) to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and presentation of our W42 residential community in Vancouver. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will ensure properties remain safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for residents.

This role blends building operations, inspections, vendor coordination, and common area upkeep. You will respond to maintenance requests, identify issues early, support contractors on-site, and help maintain

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in building operations or related field.
• Experience in minor repairs, inspections, janitorial support, and general property maintenance.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings to high standards of safety, cleanliness and appearance.
• Perform routine inspections and site maintenance activities.
• Respond to maintenance requests and coordinate with vendors and contractors on-site.
• Identify deficiencies early and address issues to prevent escalation.
• Support the environment for residents and ensure operational readiness of common areas.

Job description

Marcon is seeking a hands-on Building Manager (Live-In) to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and presentation of our W42 residential community. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring both properties remain safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for residents.

This role combines building maintenance, property inspections, vendor coordination, and common area up keep. You will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests, identifying deficiencies before they become larger issues, supporting contractors and service providers on-site, and helping maintain high standards of property appearance and operational readiness.

At W42, the role includes additional responsibility for routine inspections, site maintenance activities, and supporting the overall functionality and performance of the property. Success in this position requires strong practical maintenance skills, sound judgment, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to resident service.

You will work independently while partnering closely with property management, vendors, contractors, and fellow facilities team members to ensure properties are maintained to a high standard. What You Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, property operations, or a related field
• Practical experience performing minor repairs, inspections, janitorial support, and general property maintenance
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and preventative maintenance principles
• Ability to prioritize work effectively and respond to urgent maintenance issues
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with property management and service providers
• Valid BC Driver's License
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg and safely move tools, materials, ladders, appliances, and related equipment
• Availability to respond to after-hours or emergency maintenance situations as required
• Experience with Yardi Maintenance IQ or similar maintenance management systems is considered an asset
• Red Seal certification or a related trade qualification is considered an asset

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $50,000-$70,000, plus additional compensation toward monthly rent for the live-in arrangement.
