Mikisew Group is currently looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Building Maintenance Attendant.

The Building Maintenance Attendant is responsible for ensuring the building and its grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment for tenants and visitors while supporting the overall upkeep and efficient operation of the property.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning and general upkeep of building common areas, including hallways, entrances, and shared facilities.
  • Manage garbage removal, recycling, and waste disposal efficiently.
  • Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep.
  • Remove graffiti and ensure all exterior surfaces remain in good condition.
  • Monitor building systems and coordinate with specialized contractors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, maintaining a safe and well-kept environment.
  • Oversee the overall care of the building and grounds, serving as the company's on-site representative.
  • Maintain a visible on-site presence to foster a safe and welcoming environment for all tenants and visitors.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • This role is based out of our head office location in Enoch, AB.
  • Work is performed both indoors (common areas, hallways, shared facilities) and outdoors (grounds, landscaping, snow removal).
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Regular lifting, bending, and physical activity is required (up to 50 lbs).
  • May be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts during snow events, emergencies, or special maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities :

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, custodial work, or groundskeeping preferred.
  • Basic building maintenance skills such as painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Ability to operate and maintain basic landscaping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
