The City of North Bay seeks a Building Inspector to enforce building codes and regulations. The role involves examining plans, conducting inspections, and maintaining records. Candidates should have relevant educational qualifications and experience in municipal law enforcement.

Applications are invited for the position of Building Inspector within the Corporation of the City of North Bay’s Building Department. Under the direction of the Chief Building Official, carries out the statutory duties of Building Inspector I or II, and is responsible as assigned and appointed for the enforcement of the Building Code Act and Regulations and other By-laws in accordance with appointment By-laws as they relate to residential projects. Examines plans, obtains information for issuance of building permits, conducts inspections and maintains accurate records. Conducts investigations, issues Provincial offences Certificates and summons. Carries out duties of Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, Property Standards Officer, Provincial Offences Officer and other related duties as assigned by the Chief Building Official.
Qualifications :
Hours of Work : Monday to Friday 8 : 30 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
Current Hourly Rate : $37.39 per hour (Building Inspector I) or $40.36 per hour (Building Inspector II)
