The City of Yellowknife seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Building Inspector I within the Planning and Development Department. We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven individual to assume the rewarding position of Building Inspector I with the Planning and Development Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Lands & Building Services, the Building Inspector I assists with plan reviews, inspections, and regulatory project work, providing detailed explanations as required, in support of the City's short- and long-term strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a red seal certification in a building trade along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the construction industry. A combination of related education and construction experience may be considered. The Building Officials Association Level I Certification, or equivalent, is a requirement, as well as having a valid Class 5 Drivers license.
The position requires proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. The ability to effectively communicate technical information in an appealing and easy to understand manner, both verbally and in writing, is required
SALARY:
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $86,829.74 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowance totaling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
