Building Inspector

As aBuilding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that constructionprojects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws.Your role will be crucial in maintaining the safety and integrity of buildingswithin the jurisdiction.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of newand existing buildings to ensure compliance with local building codes,zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Review building plans andblueprints to verify they meet all required standards and codes.
- Identify and documentviolations, defects, or discrepancies during inspections and recommendcorrective actions.
- Provide technical guidanceand support to builders, contractors, and property owners regardingcompliance issues and building regulations.
- Prepare detailed inspectionreports and maintain accurate records of inspections and enforcementactions.
- Respond to inquiries fromthe public, contractors, and municipal officials regarding buildingregulations and inspection procedures.
- Stay updated on changes inbuilding codes, regulations, and industry practices to ensure accurateinspections and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments andagencies to address building-related issues and concerns.
Requirements
- Relevant certification or diploma in BuildingInspection, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a building inspector or in arelated role, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills toassess compliance and identify issues.
- Strong communication skills for effectivelyinteracting with various stakeholders and providing clear guidance.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsto manage inspection reports and records.
- Ability to stay current with changes in buildingcodes, regulations, and industry best practices.
