Job summary

EXP Services Inc. in Brampton, ON is seeking a Building Science Technologist to join our Building Science Group. Reporting to a Project Manager and Team Lead, you will deliver technical services and support for envelope assessments, renewals, and related projects.

You will perform site reviews, prepare reports, and assist in lifecycle forecasts and capital repair planning. The role requires a Diploma/degree in Building Science or related field, 2+ years of experience, AutoCAD skills, and ability

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Building Science, Architectural Science or Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of practical experience in building science work, specifically Building Condition Assessments and Reserve Fund Studies.
• Document building deficiencies, assess component condition, and estimate remaining service life.
• Demonstrated ability to perform high-level assessments of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems would be an asset.
• Assist in preparing lifecycle renewal forecasts, capital repair plans, and opinions of probable cost.
• Willing to work at height and using tools to access elevated building elements.
• Knowledge of building evaluation, design, and construction.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Assess the condition of existing building envelopes and recommend solutions.
• Assist with Structural, Architectural, and Civil CADD work.
• Prepare specifications, reports, and contract administration tasks.
• Conduct site reviews of building envelope construction and repairs.
• Calculate quantities for repair and replacement costs.
• Contribute to Reserve Fund Studies and Condition Assessments.
