Compensation

ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is C$35 per hour - C$40 per hour.

Key Purpose

As Building Operator , you will operate, maintain, and perform repairs on all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting equipment and controls, HVAC, Chilled Water Systems, Air Handlers, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, AHUs, VAV Systems, FCUs, refrigeration equipment, and other mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal conditions.

The Building Operator will also provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for other facilities as assigned or directed.

Working Hours

  • The hours for this position are 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm.

  • Support the team and report to the Facility Manager.
  • Communicate effectively within the Business Unit and across the company, participate in project groups and meetings as required.

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of related technical experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Graduation from a technical program at a community or regional college.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in O&M and / or building engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and CMMS.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors.
  • Experience with KPIs, capacity planning, and reporting.
  • Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, and knowledge of maintenance practices at Journeyman level.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, MS Office.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts, ability to read and interpret manuals, regulations, and technical documents.
  • Effective communication skills via various tools.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Lift, push, pull, carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Visual abilities to perform tasks effectively.
  • Work under pressure and participate in on-call rotation.
