Building Coordinator

The Building Coordinator ensures the safe and efficient operation of the organization’s facilities. This includes coordinating maintenance, managing vendor relationships, supporting waste treatment and removal, and handling the day-to-day needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as the first point of contact for facilities-related inquiries.
2. Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production-related infrastructure.
3. Liaise with vendors, service contractors, and internal departments to schedule repairs, inspections, and facility projects.
4. Monitor and maintain safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
5. Maintain records of facility-related work orders, inspections, logs, and service reports.
6. Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and/or installations.
7. Assist with emergency response plans and procedures.
8. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety/environmental regulations, including waste management and treatment.
9. Track facility expenses and contribute to budgeting efforts.
10. Other duties as required.

Requirements

1. Post-Secondary Diploma (Preferred).
2. Computer skills.
3. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to work in conjunction with a team.
4. Minimum of 3 years facilities experience within a large manufacturing environment.
5. Knowledge of building systems, health and safety regulations, and vendor management.
6. Experience with electrical and mechanical systems including air distribution systems and equipment, pumps, and chillers.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills.
8. Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage projects and teams.
9. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
10. Able to prioritize work and effectively support the plant.
11. Able to multitask and work with interruptions.
