The Project Coordinator position is a key role in ensuring the success of our construction projects from start to finish. As a skilled and experienced professional, you will be responsible for coordinating building projects while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review proposal specifications and building drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Prepare estimates of the cost of materials, labour, and equipment for construction projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs, material price lists updating, ordering materials and equipment, organize manpower.
- Establishing and maintaining the tendering process with a variety of trades.
- Knowledge of modern building construction methods, materials, and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- In-depth understanding of residential high-rise construction practices and techniques.
- Interpret architectural, structural, and topographic drawings.
- Review the daily progress of the project and ensure it is financially on track and on schedule.
- Assist with subcontract negotiations and awards under the direction of the project manager.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in construction or engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in project coordination in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with mid to high-rise residential.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and divisions of construction.
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.
- Working knowledge of software such as JONAS, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using AutoCAD for estimating and design / drafting.
- Must have a means of transportation for site visits.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
