Job summary

University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a Building Information and Controls Specialist to support the operation and optimization of the Building Automation System (BAS) across the Mississauga campus. The role involves configuring schedules, alarm strategies, trend logs, and collaborating with FMP and I&ITS teams for BAS standards in renovations and new construction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of BAS experience, familiarity with BACnet/Modbus, and strong skills in MS Office,

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of recent, proven work experience with Building Automation System (BAS).
• Experience with BACnet and Modbus protocol integration, preferably in a University or College environment.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Effective organizational, planning and time management skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report facility repair and/or maintenance needs in a large, complex institution.
• Liaise with clients to resolve minor complaints and address issues.
• Collaborate with Capital Projects staff on network requirements.
• Oversee renovation implementations.
• Perform routine building inspections and analyze network infrastructure modifications.
