The Corporation of the City of North Vancouver is seeking a Budget Analyst II to join the Finance & Economic Development team on a temporary full-time basis for approximately one year.
You will plan, coordinate and administer the annual Operating Budget and Financial Plan, support department heads, and perform budget analyses across salary schedules, revenue streams and facilities costs. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of 47.37 CAD.

The Finance & Economic Development department is looking for a temporary full time Budget Analyst II to join their team for approximately one (1) year.
In this position you will:
You will have at least 3 years of financial or budget management experience in a similar position, preferably in municipal government, with knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board standards. Although a professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred, consideration will be given to suitably qualified applicants who have made significant progress towards a recognized accounting qualification.
This position requires analytical and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team setting. Your collaborative approach and good communication skills will ensure your success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Familiarity with financial management systems such as PeopleSoft is an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
For temporary full-time position of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
Salary: $47.37 per hour (Pay Grade 25, January 2026 rates)
Hours of Work: The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
