Job Summary

This position supports the Manager of Budgeting in directing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating budgeting, financial planning, and reporting services for Eastern Health and related entities, in accordance with departmental, government, and professional accounting regulations. It involves collecting, processing, and disseminating information and reports to internal and external users, including program directors, senior management, the Finance Committee, the Board of Trustees, and health information centers. Reports include qualitative and quantitative data on budget performance, staffing, utilization, and trend analysis.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree with a focus on accounting and/or finance
  • CPA designation and membership with the Certified Professional Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • At least three (3) years of recent financial management experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Experience with financial analysis, budget preparation, and review in a computerized environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of Cognos, TM1, Meditech systems is an asset
  • Proficiency with database management, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse and changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
