Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a BSO Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents in our Generations Toronto long-term care home. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and help guide Personal Support Workers to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of relevant Ontario health acts and safety policies.
• Current CNO Certificate of Competence and good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaises with physicians and health care team including external partners.
• Supervises Personal Support Workers and participates in shift handover.
• Notifies physician of significant changes in resident status.

The Registered Practical Nurse provides direction to the Personal Support Workers as defined by the College of Nurses Standard of Practice Working with Unregulated Health Care Workers.Apply today to become a valued member of our team!What You Will DoIn collaboration with the Registered Nurse, implements AgeCare policies and procedures on the unit. Provides input into the revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.Liaises with physicians and other members of the health care team including external health care partners.
