Job summary

Caressant Care Nursing And Retirement Homes Limited is seeking a BSO Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for our Long Term Care sites in Ontario. The role is part-time and requires current RN/RPN registration with Ontario College of Nurses.

Candidate will have experience with dementia, delirium, and behavioural support, with knowledge of PIECES, GPA, and related tools; familiarity with RAI documentation is a plus. Applicants must pass a CRC with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Preference for candidates with dementia, delirium, mental health, addictions, or behavioural changes experience.
• Training in PIECES, GPA, U-First, Teepa Snow GEMs, PAC, Mental Health First Aid, Non-violent crisis interventions, DementiAbility or willingness to receive training.

What you bring…

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.


• Preference to candidates with extensive knowledge & skills working with residents with types of dementia, delirium, mental health, addictions, other neurological conditions, and/or acute behavioural changes.


• Training/knowledge of PIECES, GPA, U-First, Teepa Snow GEMs, PAC, Mental Health First Aid, Non-violent crisis interventions, DementiAbility, and any other courses required by Behavioural Supports Ontario, or willingness to receive training.


• Demonstration of maturity and responsibility, as well as leadership qualities.


• Good interpersonal skills, specifically enhanced knowledge of family and caregiver needs, are best served by a behavioural support system.


• Familiarity with RAI documentation & care planning functions.


• Familiar with WHMIS regulations and completing tests.

The pay rate is $33.07 per hour, and the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
