Job Description:

The Instructor, Brock Sports Camp is responsible for all duties associated with the successful delivery of a youth sport camp. The instructor will act as a caregiver, mentor, and educator and is responsible for facilitating a positive and safe experience for all campers. This position is a part-time for the duration of each camp.

Brock Sports intends to offer on-campus day camps on the following days:

  • July 7-11
  • July 14-18
  • July 21-25
  • July 28-August 1

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with all campers and families
  • Provide an engaging and educational experience for all participants
  • Be knowledgeable in and facilitate all program activities related to camp
  • Be fun, approachable, and participate fully in all camp activities
  • Be aware of and make accommodations for camper needs where required (medical, dietary, behavioral, etc.)
  • Use provided equipment and teaching space responsibly
  • Prevent, respond to, and document all incidents, reporting immediately to program managers
  • Attend required training sessions

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Completion of at least year one of post-secondary study
  • Experience and/or desire to work with children and youth
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to problem solve professionally and effectively
  • A friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
  • Proven record of accountability
  • Interest in and willingness to learn new technical skills, develop personal soft skills, and understand and facilitate concepts in relevant curriculum program areas
  • First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Completion of required training sessions
