Position Overview

We are seeking a BCLS / Project Manager to lead operations for our Creston location. This role blends professional land surveying with project leadership and business development. The successful candidate will build strong client relationships, oversee field and office work, and play a key role in expanding Polaris’s presence in the Kootenay area and specifically in the Creston Valley.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and deliver projects with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct professional surveying duties such as boundary surveys, subdivisions, and construction layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, professional standards, and client expectations.
  • Develop client relationships and identify opportunities for new business in the region.
  • Support and mentor LSTs and other team members where applicable.
  • Perform field inspections and occasional fieldwork as part of standard surveying practice.
Qualifications
  • BCLS designation in good standing.
  • Professional land surveyor designations from other Canadian provinces will be considered.
  • LSTs in later stages of certification are welcome to apply.
  • Having a CLS Designation is also an asset.
  • Knowledge of BC land surveying practices and standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative and accountability.
Working Conditions
  • Oversight of Creston office with regular client interaction.
  • Includes field inspections and occasional outdoor work in varied conditions.
  • Local travel within the Creston Valley and surrounding areas.

Location

This role is based out of our Creston office. Regular physical presence is required, though we welcome applications from candidates already living in or willing to relocate to Creston or surrounding areas (e.g. Nelson, Cranbrook).
