Job summary

You will develop firmware and drivers and drive platform features with end-to-end ownership across hardware and software layers. The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration within Apple’s CoreOS organization to deliver integrated operating systems for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, with a strong focus on debugging and bring-up

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in systems-level or embedded software.
• Strong proficiency in C or C++, comfortable reading hardware documentation.
• Solid CS fundamentals, operating systems and computer architecture.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to own problems end to end and work with ambiguity.
• Willingness to ask for help and collaborate with others.
• Promotes an open and inclusive work environment with strong communication.
• Bachelor's Degree in CS or CE, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Bring up new hardware platforms from pre-silicon to first boot on real silicon.
• Develop and debug low-level firmware that starts every Apple product.
• Debug hardware and software issues at deep levels of the stack.
• Partner with silicon design, driver, security, and validation teams.
• Influence hardware design by reviewing specifications before silicon builds.
• Drive platform features from concept through delivery with end-to-end ownership.
• Build tools and automation to accelerate future bring-ups.
