Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Bridge Lead Rail and Transit to join our growing Canadian Operations within the Transportation Group. In this role, you will contribute to the success of large-scale projects and enhance transportation infrastructure.

The Bridge and Transportation Group within GHD Canada collaborates with Provincial, Regional, and local municipal agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large-scale projects across the entire Transportation spectrum, including highways, roads, and bridges. Our team provides comprehensive bridge engineering services, from project planning and conceptual design to lifecycle cost analysis, load evaluation, environmental assessment, preliminary and detailed design, construction administration / inspection, and asset management support.

Responsibilities include :

• Participating in and completing multi-disciplinary bridge projects, rail bridges, and complex transit project designs.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
• Collaborating within teams and leading integration with other engineering disciplines to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Producing conceptual and detailed designs, technical specifications, and estimating costs and schedules.
• Working within various procurement models and roles.
• Preparing reports and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public.
• Maintaining contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients.
• Engaging in project planning, development, and monitoring schedules and budgets.

Qualifications :

• Ontario P.Eng. designation is required.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in bridge design and engineering.
• Experience with conventional and alternative delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), Ontario standards (OPSS), and client-specific standards (e.g., MTO).
• Experience with Metrolinx and AREMA standards.
• Experience with CN Rail, CP Rail, and MTO is an asset.
• Experience in managing or mentoring teams is an asset.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
