Islengineering is looking for a Bridge Construction Inspector to join our Edmonton office. This role supports successful bridge projects through technical expertise and on-site observation while requiring coordination with various teams.

A Little More About the Role

Bridge Construction Inspector role combines technical expertise, on‑site observation, and strong coordination to support successful bridge projects. The position is located in the Edmonton office and may require short‑term travel within Alberta.

Responsibilities
  • Construction project management: internal cost control, staff coordination and allocation, client communication, reporting.
  • Construction contract administration: project reporting, quantity calculations, progress estimates, change management, meeting coordination, issue and claim management, scheduling, survey coordination, coordination with design/environmental/other disciplines/subconsultants.
  • Staff management for bridge construction site inspection and fabrication inspection, issue management, and reporting.
  • Development and implementation of internal construction inspection tools, check‑sheets, ITPs, report templates.
  • Continued development of proactive project management, contract administration, and bridge construction/fabrication technical skills.
  • Corporate initiatives: construction committee objectives, quality process development, constructability reviews, quality management audits.
