Qualifications

  • Experience in brick manufacturing is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude and valid lift truck certification required.

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing

TITLE: Brick Inspector Operator

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

A Brick Inspector Operator position has become available at the Aldershot Plant. This is a 12-hour continental (day/night) shift position. The probation rate is $25, and after probation, the job pays $30.72 up to $34.34 after meeting qualifications and sufficient training.

DUTIES
  1. Set-up and troubleshooting car cleaner.
  2. Monitors Dust Collector system.
  3. Reset Car Track #7, when out of Sequence.
  4. Sets up the unloading line during product changes, including:
    1. finishing the desired amount of cubes
    2. removing the “leftover” product
    3. starting the unloading sequence again
  5. Continually inspects all visible portions of products for colour/texture variance.
  6. Continually removes cracked or defected product.
  7. Communicates any changes in run/lot number to the Strapper Operator so changed cubes can be identified.
  8. Troubleshoot all packaging equipment when required.
  9. Prevents damage to kiln cars by constantly monitoring robots.
  10. Communicate & work as a team with other operators.
  11. Actively supports others in the Packaging work cell in training and operations.
  12. Maintains a clean and organized department.
  13. Active in the preventative maintenance of the Packaging department equipment.
  14. Reports Maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
  15. Preventative maintenance of machine (Replace wear parts).
  16. Actively participates in maintenance shutdowns scheduled or unscheduled when required by Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
  17. Work in a safe and efficient manner according to company policies.
  18. 5S – Safety, sort, store, shine, standardize & sustain.
  19. And any other duties as required by Production Supervisor or Lead Hand when the need arises.
Skills And Experience
  • Brick manufacturing experience would be an asset.
  • General understanding of control systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid Lift Truck Certification.
  • Able to lift heavy materials.
