Brick Inspector Operator

TITLE : Brick Inspector Operator
REPORTS TO : Production Supervisor

A Brick Inspector Operator position has become available at the Aldershot Plant. This is a 12-hour continental shift (day/night). The job pays $25 for new hires, increasing to $30.72 after 3 months.

The pay rate is $30.72 with packaging experience and can go up to $34.34 after meeting qualifications and completing sufficient training.

DUTIES

1. Set up and troubleshoot car cleaner.
2. Monitor Dust Collector system.
3. Reset Car Track #7 when out of sequence.
4. Set up the unloading line during product changes.

This includes:

1. Finishing the desired amount of cubes.
2. Removing leftover product.
3. Starting the unloading sequence again.
4. Inspecting all visible portions of products for colour/texture variance.
5. Removing cracked or defective products.
6. Communicating any changes in run/lot number to the Strapper Operator for identification.
7. Troubleshooting all packaging equipment as required.
8. Preventing damage to kiln cars by monitoring robots continuously.
9. Communicating and working as a team with other operators.
10. Supporting others in the Packaging work cell through training and operations.
11. Maintaining a clean and organized department.
12. Participating in preventive maintenance of packaging equipment.
13. Reporting maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
14. Performing preventative maintenance, such as replacing wear parts.
15. Participating in scheduled or unscheduled maintenance shutdowns as required.
16. Working safely and efficiently according to company policies.
17. Performing any other duties as required by the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.

Skills and Experience

Brick manufacturing experience is an asset. General understanding of control systems, mechanical aptitude, and valid lift truck certification are required.
