Qualifications

The Headlines:

Six Pints Collective is currently seeking a Brewing Operator Technician to be part of our Brewing Team based at our Brewery in Creemore Springs, Ontario. Reporting to the Line Lead – Brewing, this role is at the heart of what the brewery is all about. It involves the hard work and attention to detail in the brewing process to ensure high-quality beer, prepared in the correct amounts, within the specified timelines. Excellence in this role helps set the entire business up for success.

The Responsibilities:

Brewing: Follow established brewhouse operating procedures in a safe and efficient manner; monitor processes using routine QC checks to ensure product specifications are met; troubleshoot when results are out of range or specification.

Cellars: Yeast collection and preparation; preparing tanks using established cleaning and sanitizing procedures; housekeeping of cellars work area; monitoring sanitation supply inventories.

Filtration: Follow established procedures to ensure proper volumes and parameters are within targets; maintain filtration equipment; keep the work area clean.

General Maintenance: Maintain production areas according to SOPs and perform other tasks as assigned by the Line Lead – Brewing.

Within the brewing team, there are 4 tiers of Brewing Technician:

  • Technician – entry-level; basic production requirements; limited equipment skills.
  • Technician 1 – skilled operator; general production knowledge; broader capabilities.
  • Technician 2 – advanced operator; mastery of daily operations; can lead and mentor others.
  • Technician 3 – area operator lead; improve operations; train and mentor operators; focus on KPI improvements.

The Other Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, including breweries; process-oriented and mechanically inclined.
  • Preference for ticketed trades (e.g., Stationary Engineer, Millwright).
  • DZ license is a strong asset.
  • Brewing experience is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Passionate about great beer!
  • Availability to work 5 shifts per week, including weekends, on a rotating schedule.
