We are one of North America's first estate breweries, consisting of a brewery and family farm that grows ingredients for our beer such as barley and hops. We also produce a range of other products such as malted sodas, hops-infused health and wellness products, and hand sanitizer. Job description:

In this role, you will work as part of the production team and be the key person to assist and work with our Brewmaster in the tasks needed to brew excellent beer and beverages, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

This is a full-time position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Brewmaster to achieve production tasks and goals
  • General management of supporting workers to achieve production tasks and goals
  • Meeting or exceeding all production goals on a consistent basis
  • Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment
  • Examining beer and products to verify conformity to quality standards
  • Measuring and monitoring production parameters for conformity, and notifying the supervisor of any malfunctions
  • Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), food safety gear, and following SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times
  • Filling beer into kegs; must be able to lift 50+ lbs and handle a filled keg
  • Continual lifting, dragging, carrying, and manipulating of hoses, parts, pumps, buckets, and reservoirs, requiring standing, walking, crouching, and lifting regularly throughout the duration of the shift
  • General housekeeping of the brewhouse and fermentation area
  • Accurate inventory control and reporting
  • Driving a forklift
  • Preparation of orders, loading and unloading distributor trucks

Experience and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a production environment such as brewing is preferred
  • Stable work history
  • Ability to meet production schedules
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience with forklift, pallet jack, and other moving equipment
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • Experience with proper handling of potentially hazardous materials
  • Aptitude for operating complex machinery
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, stoop, lift, and perform repetitive motions without issue
  • Ability to do math
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to manage multiple processes at one time
  • Self-motivated with good time-management skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a team

Requirements:

  • Formal brewing or Food Science education or college degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience (2+ years)
  • Ability to work and communicate well with staff and public
  • Flexible schedule with the possibility of working on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexible schedule: weekdays/weeknights/weekends/holidays as required
