JOB DESCRIPTION
Brewer
The brewer position is responsible for carrying out brewhouse and cellar operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a team player mentality.
Roles and Responsibilities
Operate the Brewhouse; following recipes and ensuring overall quality
Yeast management; following all procedures for harvesting, pitching, cell concentration
and viability checks
Cleaning and Sanitizing of tanks, filter equipment, hoses, etc
Dose, blend, and mix products
Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards
Assist in a new project and product development
Brewing area housekeeping
Assist with creation and maintenance of SOP’s
Perform organizational tasks and problem solving
Other Duties As Required
Qualifications and Requirements
Formal Brewing Experience, 1-2 Years Experience Preferred.
Education in Brewing, Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology an asset
Able to perform minor maintenance repairs
Strong work ethic, punctuality, team work and proactivity
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and;
A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
Working Conditions
Position may require long periods of standing and walking;
Required to work in a loud, open area;
May be required to lift heavy objects and complete tasks that are physically demanding,
and;
Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
