Job description

Breast Tumour Group Committee Chair & Breast Tumour Group Quality Lead


Location: Any BC Cancer Regional site


Part-time: 0.1 FTE


BC Cancer is dedicated to working towards a world free from cancer, covering prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.


We operate six regional cancer centres and two research centres across British Columbia, focusing on comprehensive cancer control and research.


The Breast Tumour Group Chair, also serving as the Breast Tumour Group Quality Lead, will provide leadership for the Breast Tumour Group committee, collaborate with provincial members, BC Cancer Council, and leadership to improve patient care and outcomes, oversee research, quality assurance, and data analysis, and develop evidence-based pathways.


Role: Tumour Group Quality Lead (0.1 FTE)
  1. Strategic: Measure adherence to quality standards, identify provincial quality improvement opportunities, establish measurement frameworks, and oversee clinical care pathway development.
  2. Leadership: Lead high-quality care initiatives, promote evidence-based practices, foster strong relationships among members, and coordinate with organizational leaders for continuous improvement.
Role: Tumour Group Chair
  1. Oversee committee work, provide strategic oversight on research and outcomes, promote data access, and represent the committee at council meetings.
  2. Set strategic priorities, identify benchmarks, and collaborate on improvement strategies.
  3. Manage committee meetings, ensure interdisciplinary membership, organize annual retreats, and facilitate pathway development and treatment requests.
  4. Promote interdisciplinary teams, support research initiatives, and advocate for professional development.
  5. Act as a facilitator for member input on BC Cancer processes and initiatives.
