Overview

Our restaurant portfolio in the Kelowna International Airport includes: White Spot, Subway, Tim Hortons, and retail stores. This position is located in a secure airport environment and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required. All candidates must be legally authorised to work in Canada and must be able to provide the government-issued documentation required for airport security clearance. Documentation will be reviewed during the onboarding process in accordance with Transport Canada regulations. At SSP Canada, our Line Cooks have the important role of receiving food orders and preparing dishes for our guests, while properly setting up the kitchen so every Expert has the product and tools easily accessible during their shift. Responsibilities
  • Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and presents the dishes ordered.
  • Have the correct and adequate setup in the kitchen/work station at each shift, including making orders, storing all fresh, dry, frozen goods, condiments and supplies.
  • Handle, store and rotate stored products properly.
  • Put all utensils used during the shift in their place, clean and tidy up the work area as well as storage areas (refrigerators, freezers), and empty, clean and store bins.
  • Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager to meet hygiene standards.
  • Take instructions from the manager when taking office and take stock with the manager before leaving to ensure everything is in order.
Skills and Other Requirements
  • One year minimum experience working in a food service environment
  • High school diploma, preferred
  • Verbal and written communication is essential
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Food handler’s permit, as required by law
  • Brand Certification, as required
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
