Job summary

Eataly Yorkville in Toronto seeks a Bread Baker for overnight, full-time. You will produce bread and focaccia for in-house restaurants and retail, following authentic Italian recipes.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year in a baker role. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on site overnight shifts. Culinary program preferred.

Compensation CAD 20.00–22.00 hourly, plus a nightly premium for late shifts. Benefits include PTO, RRSP, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Basic math and measuring skills.

• Post-secondary culinary program preferred.

• Follows proper proofing and baking techniques for each variety of bread.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to health standards.
• Works towards mastering all shifts and production processes.
• Assists Sales Associates if needed and engages with guests interested in learning about our bread production.

In Eataly’s 24-hour operating bakery, a Bread Baker is responsible for producing delicious bread and focaccia in accordance with our authentic Italian recipes. Reports to the Assistant Bakery Manager.

• Prepares bread, focaccia, rolls and other bread items for Eataly’s restaurants and retail operations
• Follows proper proofing and baking techniques for each variety of bread
• Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards
• Works towards mastering all shifts and production processes
• Assists Sales Associates if needed and engages with guests interested in learning about our bread production
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with an open, flexible schedule including overnight shifts, evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to work with a wood burning oven, electric pizza convection oven and commercial spiral mixer

Compensation

• Compensation for this role is CAD $20.00-$22.00 hourly
• For shifts with a punch-in between 8:50 PM and 3:00 AM, team members earn a premium of CAD $2.00 per hour for all hours worked between 9:00 PM and 12:00 PM the following day
