Position: Brand Specialist
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Marketing

The Brand Specialist will play a vital role in executing strategies to strengthen and grow the Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) brands, including the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Warriors, Rogers Arena, Abbotsford Canucks, and Vancouver Surge. As a member of the Brand team, you are a strategic marketer, passionate about uncovering insights that help elevate our marketing plans and creative output. You understand how to improve key brand metrics and have proven experience translating or infusing brand strategies into actionable plans and briefs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of brand plans for the Vancouver Canucks, ensuring alignment with long-term brand strategy.
  • Drive market research initiatives across all Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) brands to uncover insights that inform decision-making.
  • Leverage in-house and external research to turn data into concrete insights and develop well-informed, actionable marketing and communications plans and creative briefs
  • Ensure marketing plans and creative briefs are consistent with and help strengthen high-level brand strategies
  • Partner cross-functionally to align brand initiatives with communications, community, retail, ticketing, and partnership efforts.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure brand efforts align with marketing, communications, community, retail and partnership initiatives
  • Act as a brand guardian to help ensure the output from various departments are consistently on brand
  • Evaluate brand and campaign performance against defined KPIs, adapting strategies as needed to optimize impact.
  • Monitor and analyze brand health metrics in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Marketing, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support the Brand Coordinator, helping develop skills and ensuring effective execution of brand initiatives.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
Required Experience And Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as marketing or business management
  • 3-4 years’ experience in a similar marketing or brand role
  • Proven ability to make critical data-driven decisions independently without supervision
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing and marketing strategy
  • Experience prioritizing the use of limited resources to optimize results and efficiency, as well as communicating decisions effectively to stakeholders
  • A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a drive to succeed
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional time management and organizational skills
