Qualifications

  • Experience leading a wealth-management or full-service brokerage branch.
  • Deep knowledge of securities, capital markets, taxation affecting private clients.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements (CIRO rules, supervision, suitability).
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Solid financial modeling and branch performance analysis abilities.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail; capable of independent time management and prioritization.
  • Relevant licenses/designations: CIRO, CIM, CFA.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and select Investment Advisor candidates and promote products across the branch.
  • Monitor and report on branch performance, ensuring adherence to budget and targets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguard client assets.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and resolve client issues promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative branch culture, coaching staff and representing the firm locally.

We’re looking for a proven leader to serve as Branch Manager of our Winnipeg office. The Branch Manager will oversee all facets of the branch, driving profitability, efficiency and performance across the region. Responsibilities include supporting Investment Advisors and staff in a hands‑on leadership role, owning revenue growth, expense discipline, asset gathering, compliance standards and the client experience. The successful candidate will quickly establish trust and credibility with the branch team, national wealth‑management leadership and compliance partners while delivering against branch targets and maintaining a clean compliance and audit record.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit and select competitive Investment Advisor candidates; promote new products and issues across the branch; set realistic branch targets; and liaise with IAs to ensure they meet their targets.
  • Adhere to national targets for allowable growth of operating expenses; perform audits as needed; follow up on errors; and prepare monthly analysis and reporting on branch performance.
  • Adhere to all corporate and regulatory compliance requirements necessary to meet industry standards; safeguard the assets of shareholders; monitor and control branch performance; and keep up to date with industry trends and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure the ethical and professional behavior of all branch employees and resolve any client complaints efficiently and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial branch culture consistent with CG’s values; coach and develop advisors and support staff; and represent the firm in the Winnipeg business community.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a Branch Manager within a wealth‑management or full‑service brokerage environment, or as an accomplished Investment Advisor seeking to advance into leadership.
  • Extensive industry knowledge, including individual securities, capital‑market operations, economic cycles and taxation issues affecting private clients.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements governing the Canadian wealth‑management industry, including CIRO rules, supervisory obligations and suitability standards.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to motivate advisors and engage clients with credibility.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including solid financial modeling capability applied to branch performance analysis and business planning.
  • Ability to make quick, sound, and ethical decisions and work effectively under pressure and strict deadlines.
  • Resourceful and diligent, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing time and multiple competing priorities.
  • Industry licensing or designations relevant to branch supervision (e.g., CIRO supervisory course, CIM, and/or CFA).
  • Business undergraduate degree preferred; a master’s degree in business, finance or related field is an asset.
