Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead hand to Central Ops Manager and assist with day-to-day management of the facility.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
  • Order all fleet repair and shop-related items.
  • Manage purchase orders as per company directives.
  • Communicate equipment transfers to the central branch accurately.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance as per equipment standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical failures.

Job description

Red-D-Arc is a subsidiary of Airgas, an Air Liquide company, and a leading provider of welding equipment rentals in North America. Red-D-Arc rents, leases, and sells welders, welding automation equipment, and other welding-related and specialty products, including power generators, heat treating, and dry ice blasting equipment.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the incumbent is involved in all facets of a satellite operation. Major tasks include sales, administration, daily facility operations, workload management, shipping/receiving, repairs, and maintenance of equipment.

  1. Maintain a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  2. Act as Lead hand to Central Ops Manager and assist with day-to-day management of the facility.
  3. Order all fleet repair and shop-related items.
  4. Create and manage purchase orders as per company directives.
  5. Ensure all purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices are sent to the central branch.
  6. Accurately communicate equipment transfers, both incoming and outgoing, to the central branch.
  7. Complete FA Inventory in coordination with the central branch, including physical inventory taking, recording, and reporting.
  8. Work with the central branch and outside sales to collect on overdue accounts.
  9. Select, prepare, package, and label outbound shipments.
  10. Unpackage and verify all incoming products, reporting any discrepancies to the central branch.
  11. Handle all order entry, including rental agreements, terminations, inter-branch transfers, and packing slips.
  12. Oversee and assist with performing Preventative Maintenance (e.g., oil changes, greasing, washing) as per equipment standards.
  13. Oversee and assist with troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical and electrical failures of minor nature.
  14. Organize repairs of significant nature, either by preparing and shipping to the central branch or authorized repair facilities.
  15. Ensure compliance with all government and company safety programs.
  16. Ensure compliance with all government vehicle compliance programs (e.g., annual inspections, plate stickers).
  17. Conduct monthly shop safety inspections.
  18. Perform other related duties as required.
