Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking an enthusiastic intern to join our team as a BQA II in Toronto, with a focus on business analysis and requirements delivery. You will work across departments to understand needs, define user stories, and explore AI-enabled approaches to drive efficiency.

You will participate in workshops, document outcomes, and support testing cycles while contributing to continuous improvement in a dynamic payments technology environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Interest in AI tools, automation and new technologies to improve project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Day‑to‑Day
  • Perform the analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements ensuring all the decisions and requirements changes are properly captured.
  • Support workshops and working sessions with cross‑functional teams to capture requirements and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure clarity and alignment on project objectives.
  • Contribute to creating user stories and functional specifications based on business needs.
  • Research and propose innovative solutions, including leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies, to streamline and optimize project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in requirements management and testing activities.
  • Assist in performing gap analysis and impact assessments for system enhancements.
  • Participate in testing cycles (functional, regression, and user acceptance) and help document results.
  • Monitor post‑implementation performance and support issue resolution.
  • Maintain documentation in tools like Jira, Confluence, and MS Office, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, payment standards, and innovative technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance work environment.
  • Ability to come to office 3 times a week.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Payments domain knowledge or experience in banking/financial services is an asset but not required.
  • A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
