Job summary

BW Gold is seeking a Boom Truck Operator for the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia. This permanent role reports to the Supervisor – Infrastructure and follows a two weeks on / two weeks off rotation.

You will safely operate boom trucks and cranes to load, unload and move materials, with emphasis on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates hold a Red Seal – Boom Truck Operator, at least 5 years of drilling or completions truck driving experience, a valid Class 1 license, and relevant

• Red seal – Boom Truck Operator required.
• Minimum 5 years experience with drilling or completions truck driving.
• Validity of class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Ability to operate other small equipment.
• Be prepared to participate in a positive and safe working atmosphere.
• Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail in all hours/weather.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Fall Protection Certification.
• Confined Space Certification.
• Aerial Platform Work Certification.
• Ability to safely climb and access equipment and lift objects up to 50lbs.
• Strong team player with ability to work independently.
• Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.

• Complete job hazards assessments.

Reporting to the Supervisor – Infrastructrure, the Boom Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating the boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment.

Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Safely operate boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment.
• Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures.
• Maintain lifting gear in good working condition and report any deficiencies.
• Complete pre-shift and post-shift inspections and lifting plans and report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Hook up truck and trailer(s) as needed: deck off
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisor via hand signals and radio communications.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and report hazards.
• Complete job hazards assessments.
• Operate other small equipment when needed.

• May be required to maintain a clean‑shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
