Job description

CAPSTAN Hauling, a diversified trucking company (acquired by LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies) is recruiting full-time Boom Truck Drivers with lowbed and winch truck operating experience, who are local to the Lloydminster, Alberta area.

LaPrairie Group of Companies (LAPRAIRIE) is a family-owned group of companies that provides full-service crane and rigging, heavy hauling, highway and bridge maintenance, civil construction, fleet maintenance and industrial mineral mining and distribution services to customers across Western Canada and Northeastern USA.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a winch truck to winch load and unload equipment as required.
  • Haul customer commodities with various multi-axle trailer configurations, including lowbed trucks.
  • Operate a Boom Truck to hoist and transport commodities.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and complete daily inspection reports.
  • Adhere to Hours of Service and Logbook Regulations.
  • Adhere to daily schedules set out by Dispatch & Supervisors.
  • Complete daily paperwork / reporting accurately and on time.
  • Promote safety culture and adhere to HSE policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck.
  • Report all equipment repairs and maintenance requests to the Shop lead and Dispatch.
Skills And Requirements
  • Must hold a valid Class 1 Driver’s License.
  • Must be a certified Boom Truck Operator.
  • 3-5 years on/off highway driving experience.
  • Must have equipment hauling experience.
  • Must have winch and lowbed truck operating experience.
  • Must have experience pulling 32-to-48-wheel Trailer configurations.
  • Availability to work rotational shifts, including days and nights.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team setting and alone as required.
  • Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work.
  • Acceptable drivers abstract (5 years minimum).
