Job summary

Ring Rescue is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to join our growing team in Dartmouth, NS. You will manage bookkeeping, payroll, month-end close, and compliance, collaborating with the Controller to optimize processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, startup exposure, proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Wagepoint, and a proactive mindset to drive efficiency while maintaining accuracy in a regulated, product-based environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Experience within a startup is a must.
• Strong understanding of ASPE, double-entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and G-Suite.
• Payroll experience with Wagepoint or similar is an asset.
• Experience in regulated/product-based industry is an asset.
• Inventory/cost accounting experience preferred.
• Independent work style with initiative to improve processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and payments.
• Contribute to accounts receivable and invoicing duties.
• Complete journal entries and account maintenance; day-to-day transactions.
• Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close process.
• Process payroll and related activities.
• Assist with Canadian sales tax filings and compliance.
• Provide reporting support.
• Assist cross-border accounting activities as needed.
• Provide inventory and cost accounting support.
• Identify opportunities to streamline bookkeeping processes.
• Support additional accounting duties and projects.
