A local financial services provider in Toronto is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage payroll, maintain financial records, and prepare tax returns. This full-time permanent position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Candidates should have secondary education and relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • At least 7 months of experience in bookkeeping or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Keep financial records and maintain accounts using bookkeeping systems.
  • Prepare tax returns and trial balance of books.

  • Tasks

    • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
    • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
    • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
    • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
    • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
    • Prepare tax returns
    • Prepare trial balance of books
    • Reconcile accounts
    • Work conditions and physical capabilities
