The Role
Canco is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper that will assist in managing day to day accounting and finance requirements. The ideal employee for this position is a skilled multi-tasker who is reliable and committed to providing excellent service to internal Canco stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial records
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales entries
Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end packages for 12-15 sites
Prepare and file applicable sales taxes and compliance filings
Reconcile various general ledger accounts
Contribute to the shortening of overall cycle times
Manage relationships with site managers to ensure optimal information flow
Other tasks and responsibilities as needed
Requirements
Preferred 2 – 5 years’ progressive bookkeeping experience in a related role;
Proven accounting experience;
Ability to understand and work within the unique spectrum of accounting requirements;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Sound working and technical knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications;
Professional written and verbal communication skills;
High level of analytical, critical and logical thinking;
Affinity to learn and embrace various software platforms;
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office 365 and advanced knowledge of Excel;
Ability and desire to thrive in a collaborative department within a growing organization.
