Job Description

Our client, a respected organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in full-cycle accounting who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work. This individual will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, supporting month and year-end close, handling various transactional accounting tasks, and assisting with payroll and commission-related duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Process all Accounts Payable transactions and ensure timely payments
  • Record daily carrier deposits and monitor bank transactions for accuracy
  • Reconcile monthly statements and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare financial reports and support internal reporting requirements
  • Assist with monthly journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Process employee and agent commission payments
  • Liaise with auditors and assist with audit preparation and documentation
  • Maintain employee timesheets and support HR-related recordkeeping
  • Assist in onboarding documentation and payroll tax preparation
  • Track and report on cash flow and contribute to financial analysis
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support for finance-related projects and tasks
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or related program
  • Working towards CPA an asset
  • Experience within a financial services environment an asset
