Our client is an established and reputable company in the automotive services industry is currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their finance and administration team. Known for their commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction, this organization values precision, accountability, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

At a high level, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization through diligent record-keeping, transaction processing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of all day-to-day financial transactions
  • Ensure transactions are correctly recorded in the appropriate journals and ledgers (general ledger, A/R, A/P)
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, follow-ups, and reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and general journal entries
  • Manage payroll processing and employee expense reports
  • Support year-end processes and provide documentation for audits as needed
  • Maintain filing systems for financial records and ensure data is up to date and secure
  • Keep up with financial regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practices

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
