Vaco is hiring for a Bookkeeper opportunity in Youngstown, OH. This is a direct hire position that is onsite.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Examine accounting records and other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e., GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal controls.
Protect the organization's values by keeping information confidential.
Prepare and post daily/monthly/adjusting journal entries.
Record daily cash activity, summarize, and analyze monthly.
Develop and implement a proper record-keeping process while making use of current technologies.
Analyze information and options by developing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to track and verify information.
Identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for improvements.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Engage in continuous learning to remain current in information and technology to aid in overall job performance.
Travel to other site locations may be required. Mileage is reimbursed per policy.
Learn other fiscal roles/jobs to be backup if needed.
Provide support and guidance to other members of the accounting department.
Attend all site and organizational meetings and maintain a physical presence in the assigned administration office.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in applicable field preferred.
1-2 years of experience preferred.
