The Opportunity

The Booking Officer will ensure complete and accurate booking procedures for elective and urgent surgical patients. Responsibilities include patient scheduling, maintaining confidential documentation, producing reports and spreadsheets, and collaborating with surgeon’s offices, anesthesia, preadmission clinics, and leadership to optimize Operating Room/Endoscopy time. The role also provides administrative support for the PARNS Access Manager and the Operating Room Manager.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm

Your Qualifications
  • Grade XII education
  • Graduate of a business, office information technology, medical office assistant, secretarial course, or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) years of related experience in Perioperative Services required; if not, 1 year in Central Booking processes or health/medical field experience may be considered
  • Medical terminology course or equivalent
  • Experience in report preparation
  • Experience with ORM and PARNS preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and other computer applications
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Annual training in patient, client, and personal safety
  • French language skills are an asset
