Work Model: On-Site

Reports to: Nuclear Medicine Supervisor

Hours: 15 hours per week

Salary: $38.05 - $50.24 per hour

Position Summary

Join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) and the Centre for Excellence in Skeletal Health Assessment (CESHA) at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging department in Canada! With 750,000+ exams annually, we set the standard for clinical excellence. Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team of 700+ staff and 90 specialized radiologists prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality. The JDMI/CESHA is committed to ongoing education and quality assurance initiatives and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.

As a valued member of TeamJDMI, you will play a key role in patient care and quality assurance program initiatives. Opportunities afforded specifically to MRTs and Sonographers include access to annual professional development funding and support, and mentorship and opportunities in career directions that include education, research, and clinical leadership.

Duties

  • Performs bone density procedures and quality assurance
  • Communicates with team members and management personnel
  • Participates in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring


Qualifications

  • Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education as assessed by CAMRT and CMRITO
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation
  • Demonstrated strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
  • Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
