Position: Boilermaker Journeyperson

Project Type: Turnaround

Project Location: Suncor, Fort McMurray

Shift: Days or Nights

Schedule: 6/1 for execution and 10/4 for Pre and post-work

Accommodations: Camp

Jardeg is recruiting a Boilermaker Journeyperson to join the Suncor Firebag turnaround team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Rotation will be 6 days on and 1 day off for execution. Start date will be around June and end date in July 2025. Camp accommodation and charter flights are provided from travel hubs Calgary or Edmonton, AB.

  • Some of the required safety tickets will be covered.

Boilermakers build, erect, repair, test and maintain all types of boilers, tanks and pressure vessels, and perform all types of structural and plate work on air, gas, steam, oil, water and other liquid-tight vessels and heat exchangers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a layout and plan the sequence of work to be done in a shop or field environment,
  • Layout, shape and cut metal and other materials using hot and cold methods,
  • Fit and assemble components using fastening methods such as bolting and welding,
  • Inspect, test and perform repairs on pressure and non-pressure systems,
  • Assemble and utilize cranes and other hoisting equipment to move and place materials,
  • Design, assemble and use winch and block systems,
  • Execute complex hoisting operations such as large tandem lifts, and
  • Scope expectations also include exchanger bundle pulling, channel head removal, gasket replacements and welding activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Certified Boilermaker Journeyperson
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S alive or H2S Awareness
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Elevated Work Platform/Ariel Work Platform
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment Training Certification
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Overhead Crane
  • Valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-access Drug and Alcohol Test
